What I’m Doing Now

I have accepted a job at KU Medical Center on the Progressive Care Unit in Kansas City, Kansas. Future plans include pursuing a Master’s degree in Critical Care and several tours with Doctors Without Borders.

The SAEF scholarship is an exceptional opportunity to discover and pursue a degree in higher education. During my time at Fort Hays State University, I have built a strong foundation of classroom and clinical knowledge. I have also sought out additional internships and international externships outside the required RN, BSN course curriculum. I believe this is the best way to gain a broader spectrum of experience, participate in evidence-based practice, expand my professional network, and explore the numerous specialties encompassed in the scope of nursing practice. The SAEF board has been incredibly supportive of my classroom and clinical education, but also of my additional internships and international experiences. This scholarship program awards students who value hard work, developing professional experience and outside the box thinking. I will always remain tremendously thankful for all of the opportunities that the SAEF scholarship has provided and look forward to contributing to the foundation in the future.
